The positivity rate of Covid-19 in Kalinga province rose to 57.9 percent—way beyond the 5 percent threshold set by the World Health Organization (WHO), based on the latest monitoring of the OCTA Research.

The positivity rate of Covid-19 in Kalinga province rose to 57.9 percent—way beyond the 5 percent threshold set by the World Health Organization , based on the latest monitoring of the OCTA Research. In an update shared on social media on Monday, Dec.12, OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said Kalinga’s positivity rate rose from 20.8 percent on Dec. 3 to 57.9 percent on Dec. 10.

The positivity rate refers to the number of individuals who yielded positive results from those who were tested for Covid-19. The WHO recommended that the positivity rate should remain at 5 percent or less to show that the spread of the virus is under control.The following areas also registered higher positivity rates in the past week:
