Hal Lewis wasn't concerned about coronavirus when he set out to vote at the Newhall Public Library in Santa Clarita, Calif., on Super Tuesday. But his wife was.
After Mr. Lewis returned home from a cannabis trade show in Las Vegas two days ago and came down with a cough, his wife insisted he wear a face mask—to protect other people. "She would not let me leave the house without one," Mr. Lewis said after walking out of the voting booth. Mr. Lewis, stifling coughs, said that earlier today, he went to the doctor who had concluded, "I definitely don't have coronavirus." But he figured he'd wear his black mask anyway, to please his wife and to make others feel more comfortable.
He says he has another trade show to attend in Las Vegas in a few weeks, but he's not sure if it will be canceled, or if his wife will let him go. Mr. Lewis said he was most drawn to vote in Tuesday's primary to support Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary. "I think he should have gotten the nomination four years ago, and I was disappointed when he didn't." Mr. Lewis added that he likes Mr. Sanders's policies that are "for the people and anti-corporations" and that Mr. Sanders is best positioned to beat President Trump.That said, if Mr. Sanders doesn't ultimately win the nomination, Mr.
