Corona police say based on evidence, LAPD Officer Salvador Sanchez was 'seated' away from Kenneth French when he fatally shot the emotionally disabled man.
More details are emerging about what happened in the food-tasting line at a Costco in Corona on Friday night, prompting an off-duty LAPD officer to open fire, killing one man and injuring his parents.
“It was out of the blue and unexpected,” Hestrin said. “The officer was hit in the back of the head while holding a child in his hands.” Ira Salzman, one of Sanchez’s attorneys, said Wednesday that the grand jury decision was a vindication. They questioned what evidence Hestrin presented to a grand jury this month that formed the decision not to file charges.
