Hordes of revelers were stranded in a Hamptons parking lot without cell service, and facing high Uber prices, after the party was shuttered.
There was chaos at Showfish at the Montauk Yacht Club this weekend when the hotspot was shuttered after police showed up, leaving scores of party goers desperate to get an Uber in spotty cell service and high prices for the car service.
Several cops showed up at the packed spot, which has become the late night go-to this season, around midnight, and the lights were turned on.Staff shooed everyone out of the space, leaving hordes of tipsy revelers crowding the parking lot all attempting to call an Uber all at once.throughout the Hamptons, and plenty of partiers were unable to get any service.
Those that could get cars — or were still thinking clearly enough to hop on the venue’s WiFi — were faced with soaring prices.Page Six was on the scene and paid $56.90 for a 10-minute ride to escape the masses, while having two random people beg for a ride. We obliged.
Page Six was unable to get in touch with a local fire marshal. Showfish did not respond to a request for comment.
