Pine Street is now a one-way street going eastbound from Section to Bancroft.
In the next few months, crews will start adding parking spots. Businesses say while communication hasn’t been the best, once completed, this can only be a good thing for the city.
“it’s going to be a one-way street with additional parking. Additional parking is always great because that’s kind of a problem in downtown Fairhope for people. Especially older people that don’t want to walk as far. So we’re looking forward to that aspect of it,” Brenda Connell at Green Gates said. “Honestly, I think overall it will be good. Just right now, there’s been kind of a lack of communication for surrounding businesses. When they started, we didn’t really know what was going on,” Kind Café general Manager Kristin Wages said.And while the construction is happening, these businesses hope it’s business as usual.
