After a half-decade-long pause, Saudi Arabia’s record-breaking Jeddah Tower is once again being built up.
-related arrest of Bakr bin Laden, owner of former tower contractor the Binladin Group. reports that developer Jeddah Economic Company is seeking bids through the end of this year for a new contractor able to complete the super-tall.
“The tower will be more than 1,000 meters [over 3,280-feet] tall, and it is back in full motion,” a source close to the project told MEED, the magazine reported. Jeddah Tower looms over the Saudi landscape in October 2018.Currently, the behemoth stands upon finished foundations and pilings, but is only one-third complete.
