Paul is not as dead as he appeared.
Summary After seemingly meeting his end in the show's premiere, Paul is back with a major twist in Constellation episode 6. The American scientist was seen having died after the CAL incident in episode 1, with Noomi Rapace's Jo having to leave his body aboard the ISS in her efforts to escape. The Apple TV+ show has seen Jo grappling with Paul's death while also discovering something awry about the world upon her return to Earth.
Will Catlett: It's been great for me, because I want the audience to go on that journey. Audiences are smart, and they don't want to be spoon-fed. So, I don't want to tell them, because then, it's like watching a scary movie, where if you tell me everything, I can't be scared at the places that I want to be scared at. So, that's been a joy of watching people just jump onto the series, and being number one, and letting people go on that journey.
There's One Easter Egg Teasing The Differences Between The Two Pauls So, I actually did kind of want to talk about that. In these different universes, we do see everything from subtly different personalities to outright major differences, especially with Jonathan Banks' character. Did you and Peter ever talk about what some of the differences might be between the two Pauls in the show?
Will Catlett: Yeah. Well, both actresses are very brilliant at their job, and Sadie was just incredible to work with. That scene when I get back to the house — anytime as an artist, when I go away at work and I come back, it's always kind of distant. You're there, but you're not there. So, those were just some of the things that , it has to be real for me. If it's real for me, then it'd be real for you.
Even in the rehearsal, we were in it, and I could see him light up. Because, a lot of times, when you've been doing it so long, what I hear from actors that's been doing it a long time, people come, and they're phoning it in. They want to be recharged to when they first got their first part, they want to feel the jitters, and the nerves too.
