McKenna Griffin scored fellow freshman Iyanna Miller on a sharp liner to left to win it. Two batters earlier, Miller tied the game on an RBI single. Addison Mason led off with a triple. Miller, a pinch hitter, brought her home. Skylar Green doubled. Griffin won it.“They drive the coaching staff bananas sometimes, but they hold it together,” Conroe coach Danna Rice said of her newcomers. “Sometimes they may look at us a little sideways, but they get the job done. Give them all the credit.”
“She was throwing really high, and everybody kept swinging at the rise ,” Griffin said. “We stopped swinging at it.”
