The surgery was described by one surgeon as 'space-age stuff' as surgeons in separate countries wore headsets and operated in a 'virtual reality room.'
Brazilian conjoined twins were successfully separated by two teams of doctors on different sides of the world using virtual reality technology.
Bernardo and Arthur Lima were able to be separated as doctors, for the first time, worked in a"virtual reality room" together while wearing the VR headsets. One of the surgeons, Noor ul Owase Jeelani, described the operation as"space-age stuff". "In some ways these operations are considered the hardest of our time, and to do it in virtual reality was just really man-on-Mars stuff," he said.
