Wave completes longest road stretch of season, going 1-2-1.
That’s Alex Morgan, global star, through the first third of the Wave’s season.
Saturday night, when she pinpointed a first-half penalty kick and put away a crosser in the 90th minute, Morgan led San Diego to a 2-2 tie at Kansas City. Saturday’s tie was a good result because it was on the road, where the league’s previous three expansion teams lost 25 of 34 matches, winning two. Give the Wave a passing grade for earning four points on the season-high four-game road stretch that logged 9,000 air miles.
