Osiris Khalfani, 21, of Columbus, will be eligible for parole after 28 years in the shooting death of Antwaine Bethune, 37, in February 2021.

Judge Kathryn Michael ruled that Osiris Khalfani, 21, will be eligible for parole after 28 years, according to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh’s office. A jury convicted Khalfani on April 12 of aggravated murder.

Police say that on the afternoon of Feb. 24, 2021, Khalfani waited for Antwaine Bethune, 37, outside a residence on the 1000 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard and shot him nine times. Bethune was found in the driveway of a residence and died at the scene. During the investigation, police found a vehicle key fob connected to Khalfani, as well as a credit card with Khalfani’s name. Police found Khalfani at his Columbus home days later andInvestigators believe Khalfani was paid $10,000 to kill Bethune, but have not indicated who might have paid him and why.
