Two weather systems are expected to continue bringing rains in most parts of the country on Saturday, Jan. 14, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

These two weather systems, according to the state weather bureau, are the northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” and the low pressure area last spotted over the coastal waters of Lanuza, Surigao del Sur. The LPA, although it remained less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 48-hour period, will still trigger rains in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Areas that may particularly expect cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers include Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.

This weather disturbance may also bring scattered rain showers in CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. Meanwhile, cold winds, cloudy skies, and rains associated with the continuous surge of the northeast monsoon may likewise prevail over Metro Manila, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and the rest of Luzon.
