Rochester, N.Y. — Closing arguments began Tuesday morning in the murder trial of Kelvin Vickers, the man accused of fatally shooting a Rochester police officer

Vickers, 22, is facing nearly two dozen charges in connection with the death of Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz late July 21 on Bauman Street and the deaths of Myjel Rand and Ricky Collinge on North Clinton Avenue early July 20.and called nearly 80 witnesses to the stand during trial — including Officer Sino Seng, who was seriously injured in the shooting that killed Mazurkiewicz while they were conducting surveillance in the area.
He also noted that the prosecution didn't call Tireek Burden, one of the men Vickers is accused of shooting, as a witness — and said the prosecution wants jurors to fill in the blanks.
