Nearly 6,000 protesters gathered in several areas in Manila in celebration of Labor's Day on Monday, May 1. ManilaBulletin
According to the situation report of the Manila Police District , a total of 5,780 members from 14 labor groups flocked to the city to stage their protests, as of this writing.
"Ipaglaban ang nakabubuhay na sahod, sahod itaas, presyo ibaba. Trabaho regular, hindi contractual , " the members chanted while carrying flags and placards bearing their messages to the government. Members of the Communication Workers of the Philippines also held a program at the Supreme Court of the Philippines in Ermita, Manila at around 9 a.m. to call for an end to contractualization or "endo" in commemoration of Labor Day.
