University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic are partnering to host a National Prescription Drug take Back Day event Saturday.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -
“You never know what’s gonna happen, if you have random substances, medications around this is just a good time to get rid of them,” Dr. Timothy Marino, an Emergency Medicine Physician with University Hospitals. Doctors and physicians with the hospitals say that the event is like a “spring cleaning” for your medicine cabinet.
“National surveys have really shown that the majority of individuals who’ve misused prescription medications, actually obtain them from a family member or a friend– and those are usually within a home medicine cabinet.”“Doing anything at this point is going to make a difference,” Marino said.
