Cleveland Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Cleveland Pops Orchestra and local performing artists collaborate to present 'Strictly Gershwin' from October 4 to 6 in Cleveland.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Members of Cleveland Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Cleveland Pops Orchestra and local independent artists are coming together October 4-6 to presentIt takes the audience “on a journey through the George and Ira Gershwin songbook while recreating the opulent era of big bands, the spectacle of Broadway, the glamour of Hollywood musicals, and the panache of Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, and Ginger Rogers,” according to a press release.
The show was originally co-commissioned by current Playhouse Square President and CEO Craig Hassall during his tenure at the English National Ballet, Royal Albert Hall, and Raymond Gubbay, Ltd. requires an enormous cast – more than one ballet company can provide on its own, plus a live on-stage orchestra, tap dancers, and singers. This will be an epic collaboration between Cleveland artists and the Tulsa Ballet.”
