. Up Next is Apple Music's monthly program that aims to identify, showcase and elevate rising talent.
Apple Music releases a short film shot on an iPhone XS and a Beats 1 interview to introduce its Next Up choice. The program also gives the selected artist the opportunity to perform on "I'm so grateful to be a part of Apple Music's Up Next program,” Clairo said in a statement. “In an interview with Beats 1's Matt Wilkinson, Clairo discussed her early musical influences and the beginnings of her songwriting journey.
"People like that I can relate to them," she said. "That's my number one thing that I want to maintain, that I want to be a friend to the people who are listening to the music and I want them to feel comfortable." "There's no point in making a record if it isn't personal," Clairo added later in clip, speaking of her song "Sofia."
