The city reached an agreement with Thomas Yatsko’s family Thursday. Sgt. Dean Graziolli was working as a security guard for the now-defunct Corner Alley Bar at the time of the shooting. Graziolli retired in October 2020 after 28 years as a police officer. The settlement, confirmed by a city spokeswoman, means Yatsko’s family will receive slightly above $1.9 million in the total settlement; the former Corner Alley owners settled with the family in 2020 for $1.2 million.
The family’s attorney, Nicholas DiCello, said the family is “satisfied” with the settlement and that they’re glad it has come to a successful conclusion, more than four years after they initially filed the suit. “This was a long and difficult journey for this family,” DiCello said. “They are to be commended in their steadfast commitment to seekingGraziolli’s attorney, David Leneghan, said Graziolli was unavailable for comment.
