Clayton Perry’s hit-and-run crash puts Evil Olive under scrutiny
Evil Olive is facing scrutiny from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission after San Antonio City Councilman Clayton Perry was accused of drinking 14 alcoholic beverages there in a four-hour period on the night of his hit-and-run crash.SAN ANTONIO — Two men stood at a pool table in the back of the Evil Olive on Wednesday night. One complained about his wife while his friend lamented a callus on his knuckle.
Evil Olive is now also known as the place where District 10 City Councilman Clayton Perry was captured on surveillance video Nov. 6 drinking 14 alcoholic beverages in four hours, an arrest affidavit revealed. Shortly after leaving the bar, he is accused of crashing his Jeep Wrangler Rubicon head-on into another car and driving away.
The owners of Evil Olive and an affiliated company, Extra Virgin, are Rick Mueller and Pentacle Investments. Mueller owns a majority share of the business, while Pentacle Investments holds a minority stake, according to Mueller’s stepfather, Bobby G. Meadows, president of the latter company.Meadows, 80, said he was familiar with the recent news of Perry’s troubles with the law, but he has no first-hand knowledge of the incident.
So far, no lawsuits stemming from the Nov. 6 crash have been filed against Perry, Evil Olive, Extra Virgin or Pentacle Investments, according to Bexar County court records.
