China's July food prices jumped 9.1% from a year ago, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Friday.
Producer prices fell 0.3% from a year ago.
China has been battling soaring pork prices as its hog herd has been hit by African swine fever in recent months. China's Producer Price Index fell 0.3% in July from a year ago, compared to the 0.1% decline analysts in the Reuters poll had expected.
