The long-wheelbase variant of the BMW X5, exclusively sold and produced in China, gets upgraded with mild-hybrid tech, new infotainment and sharper styling
Inside, the highlight of the update is the new iDrive 8.5 infotainment system in the larger 14.9-inch touchscreen display, housed in the same curved panel with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The rear passengers benefit from a generous amount of legroom and easier access thanks to the longer rear doors. Other amenities include the Harman Kardon audio, plenty of USB-C ports, wireless charging, high-quality materials for the upholstery, wood trim, and bright-crystal accents.
The xDrive30Li comes fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 255 hp and 400 Nm of torque, which is surprisingly lower than the previous non-electrified generation. However, the xDrive40Li gets a more potent turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder producing 375 hp and 520 Nm of torque, which represents an increase of 46 hp and 70 Nm compared to the outgoing model.
