Four years after saying the Philippine team is 'missing quality' at the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China, the Chinese squad's head coach Sasha Dordevic toned down his comments this time heading to their classification round showdown on Saturday night, September 2, with Gilas Pilipinas.
The 56-year-old Dordevic said he expects a 'tough game' against Gilas Pilipinas, a team they need to 'respect' as they expect the home crowd to rally behind the host team in their 8 p.m. match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.'It was a different World Cup. It's not the same team and I'm now coach of China,' said Dordevic, who was at the helm when Serbia dealt the then Yeng Guiao-mentored Gilas a crushing 126-67 demolition in 2019.
