Friday’s temperatures could reach 90 degrees in portions of Chicago away from the lake, where temperatures are expected to be cooler.in effect until midnight Friday after the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency determined an air pollution action day for the Chicago metro area. Air pollution days are called when weather conditions can cause widespread ozone levels that can be unhealthy for children and adults with pulmonary or respiratory diseases.
