CPS COVID guidelines are being updated to reflect new CDC and Chicago guidance, shortening quarantine and isolation time.
CHICAGO -- Chicago Public Schools announced Monday they will shorten their required isolation and quarantine guidelines, following the latest federal, state and city guidance.
A shorter isolation period is now recommended because the majority of COVID-19 transmission"occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the one to two days prior to onset of symptoms and the two to three days after," according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. - From days six - 10, students will keep their masks on at all times, including while outdoors, except when eating or drinking.
