However, there is likely a very slim to no chance of him coming back as a mainstay on Chicago PD. Therefore, if he ever reprises his role as Halstead, it will just be temporary.
Whatever the case may be, seeing Soffer back on set for Chicago PD is a treat considering how beloved he is as Halstead. The fact that he is also able to return means that he left the One Chicago franchise on good terms with all of his co-workers. That being said, it's still curious what the real reason for his departure is since neither he nor Wolf Entertainment has commented on it as of yet.
