The gated property is located on the Pacific Coast Highway with a driveway lined with forty palm trees and a courtyard featuring a Moorish-style fountain. The maid house contained seven bedrooms, including a primary suite with a meditation room and two closets, one of which doubles as a panic room. The primary bathroom is also designed like a hammam with Turkish wood screens. The home's lower level also boasts an indoor-outdoor gym and theater.
In an email to the newspaper, the “Believe” singer explained that her longtime home was inspired by properties she'd visited in Venice, Italy where “from every room, there is an ocean view.” She went on to say that it was the perfect home for entertaining her many guests and she often hosted “intimate dinners in the family dining room” and larger “tented parties in the courtyard and pool area.
