Chelsea Manalo won the National Costume Award at Miss Universe 2024 . The international pageant announced the exciting news on Saturday, sharing a video compilation of the award’s Top 3. Chelsea’s national costume, titled ' Hiraya ,' paid homage to the Philippines ’ religions and traditions, featuring Islamic art patterns and the popular art form Puni. It also included a beaded boat headpiece symbolizing the Galleon trade.
Following the announcement, the official Miss Universe Philippines page thanked all who voted to support Chelsea, while Chelsea herself celebrated with the hashtag '#PanaloSiManalo.
