NEW Charles Kimbrough dead: Murphy Brown actor dies at 86
Kimbrough died on Jan. 11, his son John Kimbrough reportedly confirmed to the Associated Press. He died in Culver City, California.The show began in 1988 and ran until 1998. It followed the life of titular character, television reporter Murphy Brown.
The actor's credits aren't limited to the lovable sitcom, however, and he received a Tony nomination in 1971 for best featured actor in a musical for portraying Harry in the original production of Stephen Sondheim’s Company.He further received award nods for his character on Murphy Brown. In 1990, he was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy awards.
