Charles Barkley is so concerned about the future of the NBA on TNT, he has resulted to reverse jinxes during the “Inside the NBA” broadcasts.
On Wednesday, Barkley made an indirect comment about the media rights deal and TNT parent company Warner Bros. Discovery being left out of the NBA broadcasts in favor of Amazon and/or NBC. Kenny Smith declared it “The Chuck Parlay,” the said “Inside The NBA” would be here forever as a result of the reverse jinx.“Am I concerned? 100 percent,” Barkley said. “We have zero idea what’s going to happen. We might lose . I feel so bad for the people I work with. It is brutal. It is flat out brutal. Everyone is scared to death.
“This is the first time during the exclusive window that we did not re-sign in advance. I will tell you this. It’s very stressful for the people I work with. ... We might lose it. It’s 50-50 if we lose our part to NBC.”. He can be heard on “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 FM in Mobile or on the free Sound of Mobile App from 6 to 9 a.m. daily.
