For the first time since 2014, Ohio State will have a new surface of FieldTurf in place by the end of this summer at Ohio Stadium.

The school said Monday that installation of the artificial turf will begin in June and be completed before the Buckeyes open their next season against Notre Dame on Labor Day weekend.after players encountered footing problems last fall.The latest version will incorporate some ideas submitted by fans last year. In October, the athletic department solicited field designs and reported receiving 1,300 of them.
Buckeye leaf decals are also replacing the X’s at the 35-yard kickoff spots, and the yard line fonts will match the Block “O” logo at midfield. Since the first iteration of FieldTurf was put down 15 years ago, the design of the field has featured scarlet end zones with a midfield Block “O” logo. A new surface is also being installed on the indoor at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, where the team practices.
