As mortality rates and coronavirus cases continue to surge in Italy, Chanel recently announced the cancellation of their Cruise 2021 runway show. The occassion was set to commence on May 7 in Capri, Italy.
“Chanel is closely monitoring the evolution of the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic in order to ensure the protection of all its teams as well as its partners and customers around the world, and has put in place all the necessary preventive measures in accordance with the recommendation of local and global health authorities,” the French fashion label said in an official statement.
Chanel is also “examining alternative ways of presenting its collection in Capri at a later date and in a different format” during this global pandemic.
