Central Texas prepares for solar eclipse; thousands join Hill Country festival, April 5, 2024 The total solar eclipse everyone's been waiting years to see is happening Monday, and Central Texas is among a prime location in the path of totality.at Reveille Peak Ranch, started Friday and are leading up to the eclipse.
“The total eclipse is an incredible phenomenon, and if you’re in the area, I highly encourage you to take the time off and see it,” said Nick Sloman. “Compared to the last one; the last festival, it was like an 8-hour wait in line to get in, so this is a piece of cake,” Bonnie McMillan of Oregon said.
“We went to the original solar eclipse festival that was in Prineville like seven years ago, and that’s where we met, and this is our honeymoon!” said McMillan. “Last time, it was a field of like 10,000 people, and when totality hit, everyone was silent, it was just a beautiful, peaceful moment, and I’m just hoping to relive that again.”
