A man has been arrested for driving under the influence after a fatal vehicle crash that happened on Sept. 2, according to West Earl Township police.
A Lancaster County man was charged with homicide by vehicle, DUI and other charges following a fatal accident in West Earl Township on Friday.
Derek Sensenig, 30, of Akron, was traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving around other vehicles along Oregon Pike Friday morning just before his Lincoln Aviator collided with a Toyota Camry Friday morning, killing the other driver, according to police. The victim was identified as 65-year-old Jeffrey Myers, of Brownstown. Myers was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital due to injuries sustained in the collision, said police.
West Earl Township police said the crash took place at the 3900 block of Oregon Pike on Sept. 2 at 11:37 a.m., when Sensenig, who was traveling northbound, crossed the center double yellow lines and struck Myers who was traveling southbound. Sensenig was arrested at the scene after showing signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs, according to police.The crash is still under investigation.
