JUST IN: Columbus City Schools Board of Education has approved an agreement with CSEA
The Columbus City Schools Board of Education has voted Tuesday to approve a new collective bargaining agreement with the Columbus School Employees Association.
“We are pleased that we were able to quickly negotiate a fair and respectable contract for all of our members. This afforded us the opportunity to be able to share the new contract with our members before the end of the 2022-2023 school year,” Lois Carson, president of CSEA said. “We look forward to building from this negotiation a positive and collaborative relationship with the Columbus Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Chapman, and our entire Columbus City Schools community.
This agreement, which will run through July of 2026, includes 4% salary increases for all CSEA members through the next two school years.Additionally, this agreement will include additional health care benefits as well as establishing work from home and paternal and family leave policies.“Columbus City Schools is committed to proactively addressing shifts in the economy and ensuring employees earn competitive, livable wages,” Columbus City Schools superintendent Dr. Angela Chapman said.
