Cate Blanchett has made another stylish statement for sustainability in red-carpet dressing.
On Thursday night, the Oscar-winning actress attended the Fragrance Foundation awards in New York City, where she re-wore the plunging black Armani Privé gown for the fourth time. While the gown has always included intricate detailing, her recent iteration of the shimmering, upcycled piece adds some surprising color.
In addition to the black sequined bodice—which features a plunging halter neckline with chest panels, an A-line skirt, and side cutouts—the Tár actress replaced the gown's previous lace underlay with sheer mesh fabric, which was covered in a black diamond pattern and embroidered with multi-colored beads in an art-deco starburst pattern.
, the lace was repurposed from the original all-lace Armani gown the star wore to the 2014 Golden Globes and to a 2018 Cannes premiere.
