Mr. Banks was taken to a hospital vet, who had never seen a cat fall from that height and survive.
The vet said Mr. Banks could live a great life in about 4 weeks, but he will lose one leg and will need surgery on the other two legs.
Tonani says the cost of the surgeries will be between $20,000 and $26,000, which, Tonani said, is so much money she considered putting Mr. Banks down. But after she heard her other cat, George, crying, she thought it was a miracle Mr. Banks survived, then maybe asking for help could be another miracle.. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, it has raised over $15,000.
On Thursday, Tonani provided an update that he was getting his surgery today. She visited him at the hospital and “he was purring away.”
