A 35-year-old carpenter and a 25-year-old woman were gunned down in Barangay 6 here on Wednesday night, March 1.
LUCENA CITY, Quezon –
Police identified the victims as Lucena residents John Carlo Leoparte, alias “Carlo,” and Charisse Daen, alias ‘’Ivy.’’ Investigation said that the victims were in the area at 11:30 p.m. when an unidentified gunman appeared and shot them with a caliber .45 pistol. The suspect fled with the gun and Daen was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. Leoparte sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot.
Recovered at the crime scene were seven cartridge cases and two slugs. These will be subjected to caliber determination by the firearms examiner of the Quezon Provincial Forensic Unit.
