A carjacking suspect who led Philadelphia on a wild chase Monday night has been arrested. KerriCorrado reports.
They say it then turned into a police chase and then a carjacking where the suspect pulled a woman out of a Lexus. Along the way, the suspect even hit cars, including a police cruiser.
The incident happened on South 57th and Arch Streets around 11:30 p.m. Police say an officer from the 18th District was attempting to stop a Chevrolet Malibu with lights and a siren that was wanted in a previous carjacking, but the vehicle rammed into his police car and then fled on 57th Street. The officer is currently at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition.Not long after, police were able to catch up to the man when he ditched the stolen car and ran.
Investigators identified the man as 30-year-old Samuel Ferraro and say he was arrested and taken to the hospital. “Very dangerous person and fortunate the woman wasn’t injured, and police weren’t injured,” Capt. John Ryan said. Police say they’re working to see if anyone else is involved in the incident and are working with Cherry Hill police on the investigation.
