Cpl. Miguel A. Maya, 23, assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 303, worked as a helicopter avionics technician
A 23-year-old Marine killed at Camp Pendleton earlier this week died as a result of 'an aviation ground mishap,' military officials said Friday. The Marine was identified as Cpl. Miguel A. Maya, a Texas native assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 303, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. He worked as a U/AH-1 Aircraft Avionics Technician, a role that had him testing, maintaining and repairing communications, navigation and other systems in helicopters.
