The Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced the arrest of man in connection to last month's fatal shooting of Charles Copling 3d in the city of Camden.Camden County detectives have charged a man with murder in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred last month in Camden city.

Derrick Miller, 36, of Camden, is accused of shooting Charles Copling III, also of Camden, on June 17, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said in a news release.Miller faces one count of first-degree murder and is currently incarcerated in the Camden County Correctional Facility on other charges.

Investigators said that on June 17, at approximately 11:59 a.m., officers from the Camden County Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Decatur Street in reference to a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, officers located Copling lying on the ground and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers transported Copling to Cooper University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
