But in a span of barely 6 minutes stretching into third quarter, Utah scored 17 unanswered points to seemingly take control at 24-7. The Utes used their run game to control the ball and the clock. Vaki rushed for 158 yards and two TDs and Ja’Quinden Jackson added 94 yards and a TD. The Bears get a week off to regroup after their second straight loss in a stretch of five games against Top-25 opponents. Next up, on Oct. 27: A visit by USC to Memorial Stadium.

Utah scored on a 1-yard run by Vaki with 26 seconds left in the second quarter to take a 14-7 lead into intermission. They got the ball first to open the third period and marched 70 yards for a field goal stretched the lead to 17-7.
