Precious Cabuya of the Philippines displays her gold medal at the podium as she is joined by other OCR podium finishers.PRECIOUS Cabuya set a new world record, propelling Team Philippines to a remarkable finish at the World Obstacle-OCR World Championships in Costa Rica.
This achievement led the 21-member Philippine team to a total haul of 1 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals in a prestigious competition featuring top obstacle sport athletes from over 50 countries. Seven of the 21 athletes sent to the tournament with support from the Philippine Sports Commission made it to the podium.Ahgie Radan earned bronze medals in the OCR 100M Elite Male category and the mixed relay team of Jose Mari De Castro, Ahgie Radan, Mecca Cortizano, and Cabuya in the OCR 100M Mixed Relay Team event.
“Our national athletes—Ninja, OCR Long and Short, and Youth—continue to excel in the World Obstacle arena. They are true heroes, in sports and in life,” said Atty. Alberto Agra, president of the Philippine Obstacle Sports Federation .
