are growing concerned and frustrated after a string of burglaries left damage to their business and their cash registers empty.
"It was just crazy. The whole glass just shattered. Everything just shattered," said Tia Wilson, owner of Chicken Scratch.She shared photos with 13News of the damage."We're having to cut hours because we lost money because, you know, we don't have money to pay staff and things like that, so it really hits us hard," Wilson said.Tia Wilson, owner of Chicken Scratch on Keystone Avenue, said burglars shattered windows and stole the cash register, safe and bank deposits.
Chicken Scratch continues to serve the community. The owner hopes they can get back to where they started. "What low-down person would do this? Why would they do this to us? Being a small business in the city just trying to expand, and me opening up the downtown location, we're literally just starting to get to a good place in a good position, and then, this happens. It kind of knocks you back down a couple pegs," Wilson said.
