Several residents of the Rice Military neighborhood awoke to gunfire around 2:30 Tuesday morning near the Caceres Community.
But one Caceres resident, who didn’t wish to be identified, awoke to a bullet blasting through their 3rd-floor bedroom window and into the ceiling above where they slept.
A neighbor’s surveillance video captured the sound of three gunshots followed by a fourth about 10 seconds later. A dark sedan sped down the street during that span of time, but it’s not clear if it’s connected to the gunfire. Houston City Council Member Abbie Kamin, who represents the neighborhood, shared the following statement:
