The Gold Pants Club honored Rick Hausman on May 7, 2024. The former Ohio State football player left a team that when on its way to win a national championship to join the Army. Hausmen later died in the Vietnam War. Surrounded by trophies, championship rings, and other memorabilia of triumph for the Ohio State University , family, friends, the military community, and Buckeyesa walk-on under Coach Woody Hayes .
After hearing Rick’s story, the Gold Pants Club wanted to honor him in this storied Buckeye tradition by presenting his sisters with the Gold Pants their brother would have earned had he stayed at Ohio State and continued playing.
