More than four decades after making fashion history (and courting controversy) for Calvin Klein, Shields is once again baring it all in blue jeans.
Of skipping a shirt for a portion of the shoot, Shields added, “There’s something about owning your sexuality at this age that is on point for where we are today.”
She’s come a long way since making headlines in her Calvins at 15 years old; reflecting on the “ridiculous” and “shocking” backlash to that campaign in a 2021The supermodel doubled down on denim for one of the shots.“I didn’t think anything of it. I didn’t think it had to do with underwear, I didn’t think it was sexual in nature,” she said of her infamous line in the ad: “What comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.
Added the brunette beauty, “If they had intended on the double entendre, they didn’t explain it to me … It didn’t faze me.”in 2017 — this time, in her underwear. How’s that for owning it? “Like Jordache, [Shields] is iconic in fashion,” Jordache president Liz Berlinger said in a statement. “We have watched her grow from a young girl into an incredible woman, mother and entrepreneur — throughout it all she has remained authentic and an inspiration to women everywhere.”
