Brittinie Gleave: Utah educators have been doing more with less on a continual loop for decades.
The Utah Senate, March 4, 2022.An open letter to those who wonder if teachers will ever stop complaining:
We, the people, fund schools and we elect leaders to oversee the management of them - school boards - children and don’t have the same systems in place to collect ongoing stakeholder feedback. They may be influenced by lobbyists, extremists and political machines. Another phrase adopted by backers of this bill was “fund students, not systems,” as if systems exist independently and profit from funding. Systems are implemented in response to aforementioned feedback, pursuant to free and fair education for all children. They are created when national and state legislators pass laws by which schools must abide, when local and state school boards pass new policy and when districts and schools respond to real-world issues at the ground level.
