The pair split after two years of marriage before filing for divorce in 2006. A lengthy custody battle ensued, which saw Federline retaining sole legal and physical custody of the boys. that he was happy to hear of Britney's conservatorship coming to an end as it would allow her to be the best mother she can be for their two sons.
