The British-flagged tanker, which was seized by Iran in July amid tensions over sanctions, has been released.

It had been captured by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard two months ago in the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Gulf and the Indian Ocean and is a major international shipping route for oil. At the time, the Revolutionary Guard accused the crew of “non-compliance with international maritime laws and regulations.”
