'If you're a European founder, you have to work 10x harder,' said entrepreneur Brent Hoberman at the Under30Summit Global Retreat
Brent Hoberman, who cofounded travel booking and gift website Lastminute.com in 1998, told a packed theater of entrepreneurs on Friday how he went from running one of the first tech success stories in Britain to acting as a mentor to the next generation of founders.
Most of the entrepreneurs that Hoberman interacts with are based in Europe, and he thinks they have to work extra hard in order to make their business a success compared with U.S. founders. “I was always hoping to be more of a maverick than my career and education might have shown,” said Hoberman, who attended Eton and Oxford University before going to work as a strategy consultant.
